How our DrugWaste Bins work

The DrugWaste Bin for liquid drugs is activated by covering the sachet found in the bottom of the Bin with water thereby creating the unique blue gel. Liquid drugs ( including S8s and S4s) are emptied from their packaging into the gel. With the drugs safely encapsulated in the gel, the DrugWaste Bin is sent to a waste stream bound for incineration.

Tablets and capsules can also be disposed of via a DrugWaste Bin for oral medication. These are placed in the bottom of the DrugWaste Bin, covered with water, shaken gently, and placed in a secure place for 24 hours after which the Bin is sent to a waste stream bound for incineration.
